LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Junior Marquez Hudson has signed with the University of West Alabama baseball team for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. The Monticello, Miss. native began his career at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and has decided to continue his collegiate career as a Tiger.
“Marquez is a talented and versatile player that can play outfield and corner infield,” said head baseball Gary Rundles of the transfer. “Offensively, he should supply our team with some additional power and added depth. He is a person of strong character, which is very important for team chemistry. We are thrilled to add a player with Marquez’s talent to our roster.”
At Co-Lin, Houston spent two seasons covering both the infield and outfield over 58 games. The Lawrence County High School graduate saw 58 at-bats for 51 hits (10 doubles, one triple, and 12 home runs), 44 runs, and 47 RBIs. He maintained a .287 batting average, a .393 on-base percentage, and a .556 slugging percentage.
In high school, he earned All-District honors and a .405 batting average.
