MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lady Lions (4-0) and their offense dominated in a 84-60 win over Faulkner (1-2) in the final game of the Christian College Classic on Saturday night.
The Lady Lions couldn’t seem to miss in the first quarter, scoring 30 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field, 6-of-7 from behind the arc. Caroline Chambers scored six of her 16 total points in the first three possessions, while Alli Crumpler and Alyssa LeMay each had two from deep.
Things slowed down a bit for FHU in the second quarter, but they were able to finish strong and take a 43-20 lead into the break.
While the second half was a back-and-forth affair, the Eagles couldn’t find a way to get back into the game. The Lady Lions continued to find ways to score and get stops on the defensive end, shooting over 40 percent from behind the arc in the contest.
LeMay finished with a game-high 27 points and a career-high 15 rebounds for the double-double.
Crumpler rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, and KJ White had nine points and six rebounds. Reagen Floyd finished with seven points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Thursday when they open up Mid-South Conference play against Lindsey Wilson at home. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
